Project Description
Hotel Villas Playa Samara | Guanacaste, Costa Rica
Project Description
Villas Playa Sámara is a Mediterranean-style, all-inclusive beachfront resort on the shoreline of Sámara in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. The project initially spanned 65 interior and entry doors needing self-closing, fire-rated hinges built for salt air, humidity, UV, and daily temperature swings. With the villas steps from the ocean, the specification called for SS316 marine-grade stainless steel for the door manufacturer’s mortise and cutout prep.
Waterson recommended the K51M-450 A3 mechanical self closing door hinge since its oil-free closer avoids the leakage and fluid degradation that hydraulic units suffer in hot, humid coastal settings. Made from 316 marine-grade stainless steel, it resists salt corrosion while delivering consistent self-closing action and fire-rated protection. The result is lower maintenance, longer service life, and reliable, code-compliant door closure across the property.
