Project Description

Andaz Miami Beach is a Hyatt lifestyle resort on Collins Avenue, set in a restored 1940 Art Deco landmark that reopened as the Andaz brand’s first Florida hotel in 2025. During the renovation, the project team needed self-closing hardware on short notice for a three-door mockup representing the remaining guest-room entry doors. Each door was 1¾ inches thick and hung on an existing frame with three hinges per door, requiring nine closer hinges in total that could be installed without modifying the frames.

Waterson recommended three sets of the commercial self-closing hotel door hinges: K51M-450-A3-US32D, using the A3 three-hinge configuration to match each door’s three hinge positions. The 4½ × 4½ inch mechanical closer hinges fit the existing frames and close the doors automatically without an overhead closer arm. The satin stainless steel US32D finish complements the hotel’s coastal interiors and resists corrosion in the oceanfront setting.
