Project Description

St. Charles Catholic Church is a [architectural style] Catholic parish serving the community of Coldwater, Michigan. The parish reached out to Waterson after the hinges on four of its doors had aged to the point where they could no longer be adjusted and no longer delivered controlled damping, leaving the doors inconsistent and difficult to manage. Each of the four doors required a full three-hinge set in a 4-1/2 inch size, twelve hinges in total, along with hardware that could accommodate the doors’ existing hold-open behavior.

Waterson recommended its hydraulic hybrid hinge with hold open. The hinges combine hydraulic mechanism with adjustable closing and latching speeds, so that each door can swing without a separate overhead closer. For the parish, this means quieter, controlled closing, consistent long-term performance. The hardware keeps the doors functioning and adjustable well into the future.
