Project Description

The Benson Hotel & Faculty Club is a Colorado hospitality project that required dependable self-closing door hardware across a range of guest and common-area openings. The scope included arched doors as well as oversized openings reaching 10 feet in height, each needing consistent self-closing performance without an overhead closer. The specifying team also needed hardware that would satisfy fire-rated, ADA, and architectural design requirements while matching a US19 Black finish.

Waterson recommended its K51M-500D adjustable self-closing hinge, using three hinges for the arched doors and five for the taller 10-foot doors to carry the added weight. The Type 304 stainless steel hinges have a numerical tension panel, so closing force and speed can be tuned on site for reliable performance. With the design reviewed and confirmed before purchase, the solution cut technical and approval risk while meeting fire-rated and ADA requirements.
