Gold door hinges, also known as brushed gold door hinges, ‘marry’ elegance with functionality and become most premier choice for modern and vintage doors. These hinges are not just hardware; they’re a statement of style and sophistication, elevating the aesthetic appeal of antique interior doors and vintage entrances. Crafted to complement a range of materials from classic wood to contemporary glass, gold door hinges enhance the overall look and feel of a property, making them a favored option for those seeking to infuse a sense of luxury and finesse into their spaces.
Charming and Elegant Finish Design
The allure of gold door hinges extends beyond mere functionality to embody a timeless appeal, making them perfect for enhancing vintage and antique interior doors such as this mahogany door. Their satin brass gold finish integrates seamlessly with various architectural designs, adding a layer of sophistication and charm. The aesthetic versatility of these vintage door hinges allows for a unified look that resonates with luxury and elegance, aligning with the design principles of both residential and commercial doors.
Durability Meets Sophisticated Features
Beyond their visual appeal, Waterson heavy-duty stainless steel gold hinges offer robust features and enduring durability. This feature is suitable for a wide array of applications, including arch doors and exterior gateways. Moreover, these gold door hinges provide smooth and silent operation with a prevention from the jarring sounds of closing doors.
The anti-slamming & soft closing feature are particularly beneficial in settings where tranquility and peace are paramount. Parallel to this, their sturdy construction and weather-resistant capabilities make them an ideal choice for outdoor installations, proving that style can indeed meet substance.
Gold Door Hinge Applications
It’s not recommended to paint gold door hinges, as the paint may not adhere well and could chip off over time. Instead, consider replacing them with hinges that already have the desired finish. Waterson Hinges offer various finishes, including Satin Stainless Steel (US32D), Satin Brass (US4), Dark Satin Bronze (US10B), and Flat Black (US19), for an elegant and stylish look.
Here are the basic steps:
1. Remove the gold plate hinges from the door.
2. Soak them in warm soapy water for 30 minutes.
3. Scrub with a toothbrush to remove dirt. An electric toothbrush works best.
4. Rinse the brush frequently to remove dirt.
5. For sticky hinges, use a baking soda paste to scrub, then rinse thoroughly.
6. Dry with a soft cloth and gently sand any rusty areas.
7. Apply a rust inhibitor and allow it to dry.
8. Reattach the hinges to the door.
As a general rule, you will want to use 1 hinge for every 30 inches of the door. That said, different brands provide different closing forces, specs, and performances.
Regarding door height:
- Doors up to 60 inches need 2 hinges.
- Doors between 60 and 90 inches, use 3 hinges.
- Doors between 90 and 120 inches, use 4 hinges.
The number of hinges also depends on the door’s weight:
- Doors weighing 150-330 lbs: 3 hinges
- Doors weighing 260-440 lbs: 4 hinges
